Who calls in Tamil

Tamil is the language of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. Your callers are in Chennai, Coimbatore, Madurai, Tiruchirappalli, Salem, Tirunelveli, Erode, Vellore and Thanjavur. Tamil is also widely spoken in Bengaluru and parts of Kerala.

Most callers in cities speak Tanglish: "naalaikku doctor irukkangala? Slot irukka?" Older patients in smaller towns tend to speak pure Tamil. Both are normal calls.

Empty slots and repeat questions

Chennai, Vellore and Coimbatore draw patients from across the state and beyond. Many of them book days ahead, and some forget. Common calls:

  • "Is the doctor there tomorrow?"
  • "What time does the evening OP start?"
  • "I booked for Friday. Can I come Saturday instead?"
  • "Book for my grandmother. She needs the diabetes doctor."

A booked slot that nobody comes for is a lost consultation.

How Zarur handles Tamil

Zarur speaks natural Tamil, with no menus and no "press 1". It understands callers who switch between Tamil and English, so Tanglish is fine, and it switches languages mid-call when the caller does.

Zarur books from your live doctor schedules, with leave and breaks applied, and never gives the same slot twice. It reads the booking back and fixes any wrong name before it saves.

Then it works to fill the slot. Patients get a WhatsApp confirmation right after booking and a reminder before the visit. Zarur can also call the patient the day before to confirm, so fewer slots sit empty.

You can save doctor names in Tamil in the portal, so Zarur says them correctly. If a caller describes an emergency, Zarur transfers the call live to your desk. It does not give medical advice.

Your own phone line, covered

Zarur gives you a phone number at no extra cost. You can also keep your hospital's existing number and forward it to Zarur. Call lines are allocated to each hospital, so your callers never wait because another hospital is busy. Extra lines are available if you need more. You choose the AI voice from 200+ voices and set Tamil as the default call language. If a caller asks for a day when the doctor has no OP, Zarur offers the next session instead. The portal is in English, and every AI booking appears next to the ones your staff took.
