Who calls in Hindi

Hindi is the main language of the Hindi belt: Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Delhi, Haryana, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh. Your callers are in Delhi, Lucknow, Kanpur, Varanasi, Patna, Jaipur, Bhopal, Indore, Ranchi, Raipur and Dehradun. Hindi is also the shared language in cities like Mumbai, Hyderabad and Bengaluru.

Most callers speak Hinglish, not textbook Hindi. "Doctor sahab kal OPD mein kitne baje baithenge?" is a normal question. Your receptionist hears it a hundred times a day.

Busy lines in big OPDs

North Indian hospitals run large OPDs, and the phone rings from early morning. Typical calls:

  • "Kal kaunse doctor hain?" (Which doctors are in tomorrow?)
  • "OPD ki fees kitni hai?"
  • Patients from nearby towns and villages asking which day a specialist sits before they travel.
  • A family member booking for an elderly parent.
  • Calls after hours, when the desk is closed.

When the desk is busy, callers hang up. Many call another hospital.

How Zarur handles Hindi

Zarur speaks natural Hindi. There are no menus and no "press 1". It understands callers who mix Hindi and English, and it switches to English or another language mid-call if the caller does.

It answers more than one call at a time, so a crowded morning does not mean a busy tone. It tells callers about doctor availability, timings, departments and fees. It books from your live doctor schedules, with leave and breaks applied, and never gives the same slot twice. It reads the booking back before saving, so a wrong name or day gets fixed on the call.

You can save doctor names in Hindi in the portal, so Zarur says them correctly. After booking, the patient gets a WhatsApp confirmation and a reminder before the visit. Zarur can also call the day before to confirm.

If a caller describes an emergency, Zarur transfers the call live to your desk. It does not give medical advice.

For small clinics and big hospitals

A single-doctor clinic in Kanpur and a large hospital in Patna have the same problem: the phone rings when staff are busy. Zarur works for both. The Basic plan covers up to 10 doctors, Pro covers up to 35, and Enterprise is for larger hospitals and groups. Every booking Zarur makes shows up in the portal next to the ones your staff took. Your reception team can still create, move and cancel bookings. Doctors see their own queue. You choose the voice patients hear from 200+ voices, and you can set Hindi as the default call language.
